I began writing when I was 11 years old. I knew that I wanted to write, that I had emotions that needed to be rephrased and written down. I am so grateful to say that whatever force first spoke to me that day at my Grandmother’s kitchen table, my crudely sharpened pencil in hand, has not stopped speaking yet. The voice of inspiration is always a welcome presence in my life. I hear her speak and I know, even if it’s not in that moment, that soon it will be time to write. These are my favorite days of all.
Poetry and memoir are my two favorite veins to write in.
I am also a contributor to elephantjournal.com.
